Jutta Bangs needs to be cloned; they [TN APEX] have been incredible partners, always willing to help and providing us with the tools to succeed.
~ Rebecca Rupp, Owner
Barr Technical Services, LLC, a woman-owned small business founded in 2010, has been honored with the prestigious UCOR Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year award for its exceptional service and dedication in the government contracting field. Led by President Rebecca Rupp, the company has steadily grown from its early beginnings as a project management consultancy to become a trusted supplier to federal agencies and prime contractors across eight states.
Rebecca Rupp, a passionate entrepreneur, launched Barr Technical Services with the goal of building a meaningful and impactful business. The company provides a range of services, including General Services Administration (GSA) contracting and supply chain solutions for airports and government agencies. Through hard work and strategic growth, Barr Technical Services has become a valued partner to key governmental entities, including UCOR.
Reflecting on the award, Rupp stated, “I am honored and humbled to be recognized for our efforts. This acknowledgment reinforces the dedication and customer service we have built into our business from the start.”
Rupp credits the Tennessee APEX Accelerator, where she has been receiving support since 2015, as an instrumental resource in her company's growth. TN APEX provided Barr Technical Services with essential training, one-on-one counseling, and assistance with market research, strategic planning, and compliance requirements. The guidance offered by APEX counselors like Jutta Bangs, Paul Middlebrooks, and their team has been a cornerstone of Barr Technical Services' success in the competitive governmental marketplace.
“Jutta Bangs needs to be cloned,” says Rupp, praising the Accelerator team. “They have been incredible partners, always willing to help and providing us with the tools to succeed.”
APEX Counselor Jutta Bangs, who nominated Rupp for the award, describes her as a "quick study" who has applied the knowledge from APEX training to propel her business forward. “Rebecca has been diligent in building her business and expanding from project management into a value-added supply chain partner. Her attention to detail and commitment to customer service have been key factors in her success.”
Barr Technical Services is now well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory, aiming for further growth and success in the coming years. As Rupp looks to the future, she hopes this recognition will open more doors and expand the company’s reach even further.
